Blockparty, a fan-focused hospitality and entertainment company, announced today it has entered into an agreement with the Cotton Bowl Athletic Association to become the exclusive tailgating partner for the 82nd Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic.

COTTON BOWL FOUNDATION LAUNCHES NEW WEBSITE IN TIME FOR NORTH TEXAS GIVING DAY
ARLINGTON, Texas – The Cotton Bowl Foundation announced today the launch of a new website in preparation for North Texas Giving Day on Sept. 14th.
The new website, www.cottonbowlfoundation.org, will work to enhance the Foundation’s mission of serving the communities associated with the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic by supporting programs that improve opportunities for underserved youth. The Foundation’s vision is to make an impact on those who play the game, attend the game and support the game.

One For The Ages... Remembering Coach Frank Broyles
Frank Broyles, who guided Arkansas to its lone national football championship after winning the 1965 Cotton Bowl Classic and later molded the overall program as athletic director, has died at the age of 92.
Broyles passed away Monday from complications of Alzheimer's disease, according to a statement from his family.
“Coach Broyles will forever be remembered for his tremendous accomplishments on and off the field,” Rick Baker, Cotton Bowl Athletic Association President/CEO said.
Ara Parseghian…College Football Loses a Coaching Giant and Cotton Bowl Hall of Famer
When a discussion ensues about the greatest games in Cotton Bowl history, the debate often leads to Texas vs. Notre Dame in 1970 and 1971. Both games live in college football and Classic lore. National Championships were on the line and legends were born, but at the epicenter of these extraordinary games were two absolute giants… Darrell Royal and Ara Parseghian.
Both brought out the best in their players, but beyond that, they came to personify the very best in Longhorn or Fighting Irish football.

Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic Hosts Free Youth Clinic
ARLINGTON – It’s not every day that area youth receive an opportunity to hone their football skills on the turf of AT&T Stadium and then wrap up the day with a surprise visit by a member of the Dallas Cowboys.
On Monday morning, the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic hosted more than 350 local youth, ages 11-14, in a free football clinic sponsored by the Children’s Health Andrews Institute in Plano and Wilson Sporting Goods.
Coaches from college programs throughout Texas guided the youngsters thru three hours of drills, emphasizing offensive and defensive fundamentals that will prove beneficial as they advance in youth sports.

82nd Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic Kickoff Time Set
ARLINGTON, May 10, 2017 – ESPN announced today the 82nd Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic will kick off at 7:30 p.m. (CT) on Friday, Dec. 29th.
The Classic last kicked off on a Friday night in 2014 when Missouri defeated Oklahoma State, 41-31. This year’s game will mark the fifth time the Cotton Bowl has played on Friday night since moving to AT&T Stadium in 2010.
It was announced in March that the Classic was moved to to December 29th, which will be the earliest date the Cotton Bowl has been played in the Classic’s 82-year history dating back to the game’s inception in 1937 and only the third time the game has been played in December.

Classic Moved to Primetime
The Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic in conjunction with the College Football Playoff and ESPN announced today that the 82nd edition of the Classic will be moved to Friday, Dec. 29th, 2017 and played in an exclusive primetime window on ESPN.
The game was previously scheduled in an earlier window on Saturday, Dec. 30th. The exact kickoff time on Friday night will be announced at a later date.
“When we first moved to AT&T Stadium, the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic enjoyed a successful run of games on Friday night,” Jay McAuley, Chairman of the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic said.

The Cotton Bowl Athletic Association’s mission is to create the most innovative of all college football bowl games and be the leader in creating premier college sports experiences, and when it comes to media operations, there’s one man that has led the charge and developed a reputation unparalleled in the industry for creating the best experience for media.
Charlie Fiss has consistently set the bar for bowl media operations dating back to his first Classic with Heisman winner Doug Flutie in 1985.
WISCONSIN VICTORIOUS IN FIRST APPEARANCE AT CLASSIC
In its first appearance in the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic, the No. 8 Wisconsin Badgers (11-3, 7-2 Big Ten ) outlasted No. 15 Western Michigan, handing the Broncos (13-1, 8-1 MAC) their first loss of the season with a 24-16 victory in front of 59,615 fans at AT&T Stadium.
Wisconsin used a full team effort to edge the Broncos as key special teams and defensive performances late in the game, along with a balanced offensive attack, carried the Badgers to their seventh 11-win season in program history.
Edwards Receives McKnight Trophy
Wisconsin inside linebacker T.J. Edwards earned the McKnight Trophy as the defensive MVP for the 81st Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic following the Badgers’ 24-16 victory over the Western Michigan Broncos.
With the momentum shifting toward Western Michigan in the fourth quarter, Edwards pulled in a game changing interception. The third pick of the sophomore’s career set up a touchdown drive by the Badgers to put the team ahead 24-10. Edwards recorded 10 total tackles including four solo along with the interception.
Fumagalli Celebrated as Sanford Award Recipient
Wisconsin’s Troy Fumagalli earned the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic’s J. Curtis Stanford Offensive MVP Award after posting a team-high 83 reception yards and one touchdown.
The 6-6, 248lb tight end has rounded out the 2016 season having produced the third-most yards in his career after notching a 100-yard game versus LSU in the season opener. The junior finished the day with six receptions and converted four of Wisconsin’s seven third downs.
“It's a great feeling to come out on top,” said Fumagalli after the game.
