IT’S OFFICIAL: No. 13 OKLAHOMA STATE VS. No. 8 MISSOURI IN THE 78th AT&T COTTON BOWL CLASSIC

As much as things change, they remain the same. The Missouri Tigers will meet their old Big 12 conference foe, the Oklahoma State Cowboys, in the 78th AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic on Friday, Jan. 3rd. 

“We are thrilled to have two of the top-ranked teams in the country with Oklahoma State and Missouri, and needless to say, Coach Gundy and Coach Pinkel have put together two great teams that deserved to be honored at the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic,” Tommy Bain, Chairman of the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic said.

TRAIN'S PAT MONAHAN TO SING NATIONAL ANTHEM AT 78TH CLASSIC

The AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic is proud to announce that Grammy winner Pat Monahan, best known as the lead singer for the rock band Train, will kick off the 78th AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic. Pat, with his bandmates at his side, will sing the national anthem to a sold-out AT&T Stadium on January 3.

"We are thrilled to have Pat perform our country’s National Anthem as part of the pre-game pageantry at the 2014 Classic," Tommy Bain, Chairman of the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic said.

College Football Playoff Announces Selection Committee

IRVING, Texas - Bill Hancock, executive director of the College Football Playoff, today announced the members of the committee that will select the four teams to compete in the first playoff.  The 13 members were unanimously chosen by the College Football Playoff Management Committee, the commissioners of the conferences overseeing the new playoff.   The playoff will begin at the end of the 2014 season.

JAMES STREET, COTTON BOWL LEGEND DIES

The AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic lost one of its greatest legends today when former Texas Wishbone quarterback James Street passed away at the age of 65.

Street led the Longhorns to back-to-back Cotton Bowl Classics, defeating Tennessee 36-13 in 1969, and a year later knocked off Notre Dame 21-17 to help Texas claim the national championship in college football’s 100th anniversary season.

To reach the 1970 Classic, Street guided the Longhorns to an amazing 15-14 come-from-behind victory over Arkansas in a game best known as “The Big Shootout.

AT&T COTTON BOWL CLASSIC ART CONTEST NOW ACCEPTING ENTRIES

The 2013 AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic Art Contest has begun and is now accepting entries from local young artists. All North Texas students in first through sixth grade are invited to participate. Art contest materials, including the illustration template, can be downloaded online at www.attcottonbowl.com/fan-zone/art-contest/. The deadline to mail in the illustrations is Friday, October 11th. The winners are determined by a select group of judges.

“For 17 years now we have enjoyed engaging with the younger sports fans in the Metroplex through our art contest,” AT&T Cotton Bowl President Rick Baker said, “We hope that art teachers from across the North Texas community will encourage their students to participate.

Today, the iconic American brands, AT&T and the Dallas Cowboys, jointly announced an expansion of their long-standing relationship to include the new name as well as plans to create an innovative, mobile-first experience for fans--building on the nation's fastest and most reliable 4G LTE network from AT&T.

The name change, effective immediately, will be reflected in substantial signage updates throughout the upcoming football season, prominently featuring AT&T, both inside and outside of the stadium.

2014 AT&T Cotton Bowl Sells Out in Record Time

ARLINGTON, July 22, 2013 — The AT&T Cotton Bowl announced today that the 78th Classic scheduled for Friday, Jan. 3, 2014 at Cowboys Stadium is officially sold out. This represents one of the quickest sellouts in the bowl game’s history.

The matchup between the Big 12 Conference and Southeastern Conference has generated sellouts the past 7 years. The 2014 AT&T Cotton Bowl marks the fifth year the Classic has been played in Cowboys Stadium, with the first four generating four of the top five largest crowds ever at the AT&T Cotton Bowl.
