Irish Complete Game Week Routine

Notre Dame wrapped up preparation for the College Football Playoff Semifinal at the 83rd Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic with a one-hour walk-through on Friday at AT&T Stadium.
This is the first playoff appearance for the Fighting Irish (12-0), ranked third in the CFP standings, but Head Coach Brian Kelly has tried to make each day this week operate as much as possible like the team’s normal game-week routine. Earlier in the day at a press conference, Kelly said he intended for the team to focus on “flipping that mindset from a practice to a competitive mindset.”
“But I think it’s much more about the routine and getting comfortable in that routine today,” Kelly said. “And our kids will feel as though today really is Friday [of a normal game week] and tomorrow they’re ready to play.”
The Irish meet No. 2 Clemson (13-0, 8-0 ACC) with the winner advancing to the CFP National Championship on January 7.
The Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic celebrates its 83rd anniversary on Saturday, Dec. 29. Live Coverage on ESPN is set for 3 p.m. CST, with kickoff slated for 3:10 p.m.
This marks the fifth consecutive year for the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic to be a part of the ESPN bowl lineup. Sean McDonough and Todd Blackledge are set to provide the call from the booth with Holly Rowe and Tom Rinaldi reporting from the sidelines.
ESPN Radio returns as the Classic's national radio partner for the seventh consecutive year. Bill Rosinski teams with David Norrie in the booth and Ian Fitzsimmons on the sidelines to describe all the action from AT&T Stadium.
