Goodyear Blimp is Coming to Town! One Lucky Fan Will Win a Ride
The iconic Goodyear Blimp is coming to North Texas. The world-famous airship will be flying over AT&T Stadium and the Metroplex on Wednesday, Oct. 10th to promote the 83rd Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic on December 29th.
In advance of the airship’s arrival, the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic is giving one lucky fan and a guest an opportunity to ride on the blimp on Wednesday. Fans can enter for a chance to win at www.goodyearcottonbowl.com/GoodyearBlimpRide.
“The Goodyear Blimp is synonymous with covering the biggest matchups in sports,” Rick Baker, Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic President/CEO said. “We’re honored to have Goodyear associated with our game and excited to have the blimp in North Texas to help us spread the word about the historic matchup we will host at AT&T Stadium on December 29th.”
This year’s game will mark the second Semifinal hosted by the Classic since joining the College Football Playoff as a member of the New Year’s Six. No. 1 Alabama defeated No. 4 Michigan State, 38-0, in 2016. This year’s matchup will once again feature a matchup of top-four teams. The Classic’s teams and kickoff time will be announced on December 2nd.
The Goodyear Blimp first provided stunning aerial views of the 1955 Rose Bowl, revolutionizing the way fans experience sporting events. In the years since, Goodyear’s iconic airship has offered its own unique perspective of the action on the ground. It has evolved into a football tradition of its own, with fans often correlating the magnitude of the game with the Goodyear Blimp flying overhead.
