2014 AT&T Cotton Bowl Sells Out in Record Time

ARLINGTON, July 22, 2013 — The AT&T Cotton Bowl announced today that the 78th Classic scheduled for Friday, Jan. 3, 2014 at Cowboys Stadium is officially sold out. This represents one of the quickest sellouts in the bowl game’s history.
The matchup between the Big 12 Conference and Southeastern Conference has generated sellouts the past 7 years. The 2014 AT&T Cotton Bowl marks the fifth year the Classic has been played in Cowboys Stadium, with the first four generating four of the top five largest crowds ever at the AT&T Cotton Bowl. Last year’s matchup, pitting No. 9 Texas A&M and Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel against No. 11 Oklahoma, was played in front of 87,025.
“You can feel the excitement building from our passionate fan base as our game just seems to continue to grow,” Amy Scott, VP of Ticket Sales & Services said. “You combine a world-class facility like Cowboys Stadium with great college football teams and tremendous local support, and it’s a recipe for success.”
The 2014 Classic will be played in primetime for the fourth consecutive year and the fourth time in the 78-year history of the game. The AT&T Cotton Bowl will be nationally televised on FOX, the game’s television partner for 16 consecutive years. The teams will be announced on Sunday, Dec. 8.
“We owe a huge debt of gratitude to our ticket holders and partners,” Tommy Bain, Chairman of the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic said. “Their enthusiasm for college football continually brings an intangible charisma to our game. It really is remarkable to be sold out this early.”
Fans still interested in attending the 78th Classic can place their names on a waiting list for Cowboys Stadium suites. A limited number of suites will be made available. For more information on suites and the 2014 AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic, please visit www.attcottonbowl.com.
